The Inspiration Behind RESPITE's Creation
Psychologists have done extensive research on the impact of experiences on mental health & wellbeing. While multiple-day retreats in exotic locales are exciting, they're not always feasible.
RESPITE was born from a desire to help individuals feel the benefits of positive experiences and find solace right here in Ann Arbor. Our founder recognized the need for a dedicated space to breathe, reflect, and connect.
What You’ll Experience at RESPITE Retreats
Immerse yourself in a hygge environment conducive to comfort and connection. Our retreats offer a unique opportunity to step away from daily stressors and embrace tranquility.
Recharge Your Mind and Body
Each retreat will kick off with physical movement and meditation.
Not into yoga? No problem. Our retreats are open to all levels and abilities. We encourage you to make the RESPITE experience your own.
Participate in Guided Exercises
We'll guide you through thought-provoking exercises intended to spark self-reflection and personal growth. We invite you to process the day's activities, generate new ideas, and identify action items to improve your wellbeing.
Build Community
As part of the RESPITE journey, we encourage you to connect with fellow attendees. You'll have ample opportunities to share your insights and receive wisdom throughout the day. (Sharing is not required; introverts are welcome!)
Introducing RESPITE
The first-ever RESPITE retreat will explore the topic of self-care. What does self-care actually mean, and how can you make time & space for it in a relentless world?
- Welcome coffee & tea
- Six hours of facilitation, including 90 minutes of yoga/meditation
- Lunch from local favorite, Jerusalem Garden
- Treats upon departure

Facilitators
Our facilitators are passionate about self-care, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to inspire and guide you on your RESPITE journey.
Vinal
Being an entrepreneur and mother of two young children, she knows firsthand how difficult (if not impossible) it is to make time for self-care.
